aNoTHer TriP...pAdaNG, InDoNEsiA

Finally i'm able to click into blogspot again, 'thanks' to the compulsatory of self-quarantine due to the influenza A(H1N1) epidemic worldwide. The disease has caused tremendous terror among d infected country, but anyway it didn't seemed tat way in Padang, Indonesia, where ppl looked oblivious towards d pandemic disease, busy with their daily errands.

Initially feeling relunctant towards d trip because nvr in our mind padang will b our only international trip for d 6 semesters. But anyhow the panitia-panitia of Universitas Bung Hatta (trip organizer and our babysitters:p) had really made d trip more than memorable and enjoyable :) million thanks to them ^^

LCCT - influenza A(H1N1) trauma

HINI don attack me!!! (H1N1) looks like HINI

Almost everything is surprisingly different, yet quite interesting when u come to know about them. Buildings, vehicles, transportation systems, peoples, food, drinks, culture, weather, everything u can possibly think of are of nothing i have ever seen n experienced. Its gonna take forever to 'story' about them all here haha :p

Minangkabau International Airport (Bandar Udara Internasional Minangkabau)
(The only airport view i could take after hustling wit d baggages)

Basically the view u can see everywhere in Padang,
the art of Minangkabau architecture

'Once upon a time, there was a calf named 'Kabau' born somewhere n somehow. But the Minang ppl there seperate him from his mama, who was named 'Makabau'. Then somehow d baby buffalo whining for food, n somehow again saw a huge buffalo by the name 'Mr.Buffalo'(pronounced boo-faa-low) by the riverside. Kabau trotted forward wit full speed n eventually hurted the buffalo in the belly wit its cute little horns. Mr. Buffalo said "&*%#@$*& are u trying to @$#%$ do??!!" after some spinning and stumbling, Mr.Bufallo collapse before Kabau. Kabau has won d fight, somehow. And so, the building with pointing horns on both ends comes after the story and it symbolizes victory and pride for the Minang tribe.' (...ok i made d names and conversations out but other than tat its the story verbally delivered from a Minang ppl)

Padang delicacies

Food, nothing but one of the most essential live supporting need tat we human being must consume to make sure our stomach is full :p Frankly, Padang has the most fiery n heavy tasting food i've ever had, tongue paralyzing to the extend tat i can hardly taste anything back at Malaysia :s But of course some are really delicious, lik the pop chicken(steamed n fried chicken), rendang chicken, dendeng(dried spicy beef), and last but not least the mouth-watering crispy cucumber:p And by the way, their 'wortel' juice is jz appealing as the carrot milk u can find here :)

palace-like shop lots...weird

200ml soft drink glass bottle (too bad i cudnt smuggle it bac
coz shopkeepers needed them bc to b recycled)

my grilfriend is my neighbour :p (it is sheer coincidence, really)

d way back home

For the whole week(22/07 to 28/07), the way of life experienced and d hospitality embraced is beyond words could explain. Putting aside luxurious accomodation and 3 star delicacy, the warmth and virtue of Indonesian is one thing u can hardly find in most developed places. Interestingly, there is a 'Petaling Street' in the heart of Padang, Bukit Tinggi. But one thing tat makes it so amazing and respecting there is the people. It is hard to believe ppl wit hard living n little earnings can b so polite and earnest, phenomena tat to some point makes u feel guilty n awkward. It was a great experience and enjoyable shopping spree, one way or another:)

To the doctors...we're not infected!!!
